The jury is still out with me with this yarn. It's Red Sock Blue Sock sock yarn that I picked up at the Knitter's Frolic in April. It's indy-dyed in Ontario so I wanted to give it a try. The base is soft and not splitty but it's not very smooth or springy. I feel like the lumpiness is distorting some of the stitches in the pattern. I'm also not terribly excited about the dye job - it's a gorgeous rich purple colour overall but there's not much interesting texture to the dyeing. Good grief, I'm the Goldilocks of yarn, aren't I?! Mostly I'm hoping that the yarn fulls up and evens out a bit after a wash or two.
Now that I'm feeling more confident with Rhombus, I'm hoping to get the pair done in the next week to ten days. I'm already eyeing In and Out in some Socky-Talky yarn by The Dye Guy that I picked up in Jordan Station a few weeks ago. But no starting anything new until I finish what's on the needles now!

I'm glad you haven't given up .I would of :( I cant wait to see the finished pair.
Brilliant to see them coming along. Can't wait to see the finished article!
They look good from where I'm sitting! And hopefully they wash up nice - some sock yarns get crazy soft after washing
Most of Cookie's patterns are far too fiddley -- and downright difficult -- for me. Rhombus, like most of her designs, is stunning!
I think a smoother yarn probably would show the pattern a bit better, but this isn't too bad. You can still see the pattern and I'll bet once it is on your foot, it will be even clearer to see.
Happy knitting!
They look good from here but that is always completely different when your knitting them. I hope they improve for you or at the very least get finished and you can move on.
Cheat sheets are great. I have a post-it I'm using on the charts for my Wink Sweater and I wrote out all the cables right on the post-it so it makes the cables go much faster. It's a lot of switching between front and back and K2P1 from the cable needle and all that. Headache and the key was on a different page.
Now if I would just work on the thing......
I like the purple. I can see your point on how the stitch pattern kind of blends in.
You have done a great job! I am not surprised at all that you would make a cheat sheet ;)
See you tomorrow.... Different location though...
It is amazing to me, the art of picking the right yarn for the right pattern! Good job doing up a cheat sheet--I have done that before and it really helped.

You are the queen of amazing knitted socks! Another beautiful pattern and I admit, I like the colour. :)
