at the halfway point
I'm sure I've mentioned how much I dislike scarves and blankets for the fact that they seem unending. But today I'm celebrating a milestone on this Lace Ribbon Scarf. I've come to the end of the first skein which makes me officially at the halfway point. My plan is to knit the second skein and then call it done. It's 38" long now - unblocked - so it looks like the length will be pretty much perfect.
Maybe my boredom with this project is what's been pushing me to knit instant gratification booties in my home knitting time? Could be. And it could be the stash-busting aspect of it too. There's still another pair on the needles now, this time in fire engine red.

That scarf will be beautiful! I can't wait to see it done. And the red booties will be awesome!
Half way finished is a good feeling. The scarf looks great.
The scarf is going to be lovely!
It is lovely! I feel the same way about blankets and scarves, they just seem to go on forever ... and ever ... and ever.
I know what you mean. But I kind of like a really easy scarf for TV knitting.
Yours is quite pretty!
Gosh, I haven't knit a scarf in ages mainly because of the endless feeling that you're experiencing. Still, I admire knitted scarves whenever I see them and think "I should knit one!" : )
I fell in love with the booties and ordered the pattern. Can't wait to knit a few pairs but with 2 knitted projets on the go and one on my weaving loom, the booties will have to wait. I always admire your work, you inspire me.
Douce Aubergine
The end is in sight!
Ain't no shame in having an instant gratification project to work on as well as this lace scarf. Scarves, shawls, and blankets are more long term projects and do require more patience. I get anxious with blanket projects. I dread a bit a shawl project but know it'll be worth it and it'll help me work on my patience.
