On this first summer weekend of perfect weather I had the good fortune to find myself in a Muskoka Chair at the shore of Lake Erie. A perfect spot to get to work on my first Glynis sock. The pattern is not complicated - although I'll admit, it took me more than one try to get through the first few repeats of the lace pattern. But now that I've finished five repeats, I've pretty much got it down, knock on wood. Unlike most Cookie A. patterns there's not a lot of drama. No travelling stitches. No complic
ated charts. Short easily memorized pattern rows. Plain knit on alternate rows. But an attractive and comfortable result, I think.And over the next couple of days I'm going to have a look at dishcloth patterns to knit. I have a few balls of dishcloth cotton from my Mom ... when the cottage owner asked if I could knit a couple of dishcloths for her, it seemed like an ideal way to use them.

Hope you're having a great time. Yay, dishclothes. My grandma likes to make those too so you'll have to let me know a good source for the cotton. Pretty much just natural available in England I'm told.
Did you find a pattern for your dishclothes? 5 1/2 mm needles, cast on 37 stitches and garter stitch for 10 inches. Nice and soft. I tried a crochet pattern - too thick, though would be nice for placemats. Now I'm off to look for more patterns, and can you believe it ... I'm knitting!!! One of the balls of wool has a nice looking pattern that you knit in a diamond shape but it's far too tiny to read.
