Year of Projects 4!

autographed!
SOCKTOPUS :  Farmer McGregor • Rumpled! • Om Shanti

KNIT. SOCK. LOVE. : BFF • Clandestine • Cusp • German Stockings • Gothic Spire • Hedera • In and Out • Lissajous • Marilinda • Mona • Monkey • Pointelle • Rhombus • Sake • Stalagmite • Stricken • Thelonious • Twisted Flower • Wedge

As mentioned last week, I'll start my fourth year of projects by finishing the remaining three patterns in the Socktopus KAL - Rumpled!, Om Shanti and Farmer McGregor. In fact, by the time next week's update rolls around I should be able to show you some good progress on Rumpled! since I've rewound the yarn and cast on already.

Mostly, I can't wait to dig into Knit. Sock. Love. There are two patterns I've knit before - BFF and Monkey, and here too - so I'll leave those until last and then decide whether to knit them again. They're both awesome patterns so I'm open to the idea of doing another pair of each. The patterns in the book as listed at the top of this post are in alphabetical order - I won't feel bound to follow that. I suspect the order will evolve as the mood takes me, and as stash yarn suggest itself. But where to start? Either Rhombus or Marilinda, I think!

And you know, now's the perfect time to join in the fun with A Year of Projects group on Ravelry! Want to knit along?

I love the range of socks in Knit Sock Love, after looking through all the patterns in it there isn't actually one I don't like out of the whole lot. I can't wait to see what colours you choose for some of them. As always you've picked something to do that's going to make visiting you for the whole year a pure delight.

Woo-hoo!

So my random question is: do you knit things other than socks, too? And how do you find the time?! It takes me months to knit socks. I think that's due, in part, to the small child I play with on a daily basis.

In life I jump right in, but on sock knitting from a book .... I think I'll sit on the side lines.

I'm doing my year of "no pressure knitting". LOL

Have fun with Knit.Sock.Love. It looks like a great book.

How many pairs of socks do you have that you've made all together? Cookie A. is very popular and those patterns look fun and interesting. I'm still working on socks but had to put aside for awhile. I can't wait to share another YOP year with you! TTYL!

I too am hoping to knit Rumpled this year! I have a great orange colour for it.

Glad to see you have a new boom to knit through!

You are so lucky to have met Cookie A.! I.missed her at one knitting conference. Should have taken advantage of that opportunity. From your expertise, are her patterns too complicated to convert to toe up?

I am still pretty new to socks but hoping not only to finish my current pair, but also joined a Doctor Who sock group so hope that helps encourage me as well! Looking forward to future updates!

Holy Moly! How many socks do you have in your drawer?? You amaze me with all your sock knitting. That book looks lovely just based on the cover--I am sure it contains some lovely patterns. Happy Year 4!
