Last week I missed posting for my Year of Projects; I've been knitting furiously on my Ravellenic Games project so there wasn't much to update otherwise. But with my scarf at the halfway point I'm bored - time to cast on something new.

I made a start on the required socks for month 2 of the Summer of Socks, but I wasn't happy with that sock, so it's been frogged. I made a start on another pair of socks using the yarn ordered for month 2 of the Summer of Socks, but I wasn't happy with that either, so it's been frogged too. Frustrating! Back to my comfort zone - a sock pattern written by Nancy Bush.

Over the last couple of days I've made a good start on Tiit's Socks, and I LOVE them.  The pattern as written is worked in blue and grey, but after seeing these colourful socks I decided to pull out all the red, green and blue scraps from my stash and put them to work. This strategy fits in nicely with my challenge to Surmount the Stash in 2012 ... and my personal "Odd Ball August" challenge to focus on my scraps. My friend Nancy picked this pattern after flipping through the book Folk Knitting in Estonia; I don't think she'll mind this more colourful version one bit :)

Very frustrating with the socks but I'd say these are a total winner, love your choice of colours, they are going to work so well together.

How could anyone mind those cheery socks! Your socks are an inspiration to me-- one of my persona; challenges is to learn how to do colorwork.

oh! oh! oh! Absolutely adorable sock :) Reminds me of those fish mittens (hopefully you know what I mean). You can't make a bad sock, can you? Lovely.

Great socks, one of my faves of the socks you've done...they could easily be Olympic rings hey? We've been loving watching th sports, not normally my thing, but once you start its hard to switch off.

Have a good week!

Love those socks! Is it hard to change colors so often like that? I haven't even made my first pair yet so it's one color socks for me for awhile!

The common theme I am seeing this week as I go visiting, is, "frustrating socks!" I love your current one though--kind of cute and I hope it eases your frustration over the other two naughty ones.

Those folks in Estonia sure did some fancy work! I wonder what they'd think about your color choices (love them like we do?!)
Glad you're onto a project you like - there's nothing worse than not enjoying yourself while knitting (or crocheting)after all that's why we do it right?

lovely socks, it seems my sock curse is spreading, everyone's sock spent some time in the calm down chair this week.
