I haven't bothered with a new photo of my Little Child's Sock because there's not much new to see. There's been precious little time to knit, and what time I have had has been devoted to finishing up my Cladonia Shawl and making small items for the upcoming craft show. Fingers crossed that by the end of the day I can complete the looped picot bind off and block the shawl.

I'd dearly love to have Cladonia off the needles as I want to cast on Summer Flies. My original plan was to complete Summer Flies for my sister's birthday but I'm not sure how likely that is now. Can I start and finish a shawl in six days? I guess we're going to find out. Working in my favour is that I'm planning to knit it in DK weight so presumably it will knit up more quickly than a lace weight or fingering weight shawl. It will, won't it? It just has to!

Fortunately my startititis has subsided and I've been all about finishing the things I've started. Thank goodness. Mindful of the fact that the month end is looming, I'll be happier if I can bash out a bunch of Finished Objects and start June with a reasonably clear slate. I'm not sure how much more of my Year of Projects list will get done. Looking through the remaining patterns in Knitting Vintage Socks, I'm not really keen on what's left. After finishing the socks on needles now, I'm considering going back to Folk Knitting in Estonia to knit a few more patterns before calling it quits on these two books.

Good luck with the cast off on your Cladonia , the colours are gorgeous ! If anyone can whip up a shawl in six days it would be you . You are a very speedy knitter , judging fom all of your insisted knits .

Love the Cladonia Shawl and I hope you can get the edge done and it blocked today also. Summer flies is a really pretty shawl and in theory it should knit up quicker as you won't need as much so I hope that works in your favour ! Looking forward to seeing if you go back to some Estonia knit socks as those were really pretty to.

Those kind of cast-offs are the worst! But they are worth it in the end! I love the colours you chose.

Good luck on your cast-off and also Summer Flies. I love both of the shawl patterns I just wish I could wear one but I don't think so...it would end up falling in the dirt somewhere and I never dress up or go anywhere so other than a bed jacket I have no use for one. I'm so practical...I have to have a use for it before I make it but I want to make one! LOL!
I'm going to be knitting from books this next YOP year too. You're so talented when it comes to doing complicated patterns. It may be just "knit and purl" but there are a lot of methods! LOL! Your blue and green combo on the shawl is gorgeous. Good luck this week!

Serious bindoff, Is it more difficult that a regular picot edge? Socks in a week surely a shawl in 6 days!

Um, I hate to break it to you, but the stitch count is still the same, whether, DK, Fingering, or Lace. So, actually, it shouldn't be any quicker, but it just may feel like it would be. LOL

Regarding the cast off--it is all in the details! It is lovely. Six days for another shawl? Yikes!

I admire how shawl is slated after shawl! I'm still plugging along in mine.
