| the leg of the second Dalarna sock |
Knitting on the Road: Canada • Canal du Midi • Conwy • Dalarna • Denmark • Friday Harbor • Hiiumaa • Huron Mountain • New England • The Road to Oslo • Santa Fe • Spey Valley • Christmas in Tallinn • Traveler's Stockings • Uinta Cabin • Unst • Whitby
After a late night at the pub watching the Springboks fumble and falter in the quarter-finals of the Rugby World Cup, I'm taking it easy this morning. Sock knitting doesn't get much easier than this Dalarna sock, especially now that the decorative cuff is done and the shaping rows are complete. From here to the heel it's just stockinette with a small clock pattern across three stitches on each side of the leg. Easy peasy.

It's another beautiful day in what's turning out to be a spectacular Thanksgiving weekend. With my sister's family expected for supper on the holiday Monday (tomorrow) my job today is to get the chores done. Happy Thanksgiving and happy crafting!

Oh those are pretty socks. My 5 year old would like the mismatched socks. Matter of fact that is my plan for the sock ends.
ReplyDeleteI love all of those! Beautiful. Wishing you a very happy Thanksgiving.
ReplyDeleteI think mismatched striped socks are a great idea. And of course the kids would be the ones that like them the best. Happy Thanksgiving to you.
ReplyDeleteskip ... skip ... skip ... you must go where you want in life. Next sock on the needles - you decide ;)
ReplyDeleteI adore mismatched socks (and does my daughter) -- somehow they just put a smile on the wearer's face! And if it also includes stash busting, all the better. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteHave a very happy Thanksgiving!!!
ReplyDeleteI say skip ahead to the socks that you're totally in love with right now. Although that could mean that you'll be left in the end with several patterns you aren't excited about at all.
ReplyDeleteI concur w/Crochet Blogger! Do what you like. If you aren't particular hyped up by the other patterns, then find other patterns elsewhere.
ReplyDeleteHow do you make your own chart BTW?
Happy Thanksgiving! I say skip ahead and make the socks you are excited about!
ReplyDeleteThose socks are coming along nicely!
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving!
Socks .... easy ????? Oh how I wish I could knit a pair of socks. Happy Thanksgiving.
ReplyDeleteLovely purple yarn and an interesting stitch detail. Having a simple occasionally sock sounds like a great idea
ReplyDeleteYour socks are so pretty and I never knit anything from a book in order, it gets extremely boring and really does my head in so I pick things at random as they take my fancy, that way I'm never bored with my project.
ReplyDeleteI can't talk about the rugby, I'm so disappointed with Ireland going out to Wales in the quarter finals...so sad..Wales were the better team on the day but it dosen't stop me being disappointed with it all ;-(
Beautiful! The colour is so perfect.
ReplyDeleteMy sister always mismatches her socks so I was thinking she may be a good recipient if I get into sock knitting as my patience isn't terribly good and I'm sure to end up with Single Sock Syndrome!
